As a matter of policy we do not charge schools for trips because we do not want some of the most deprived children to lose out on this wonderful experience - schools do, of course, make donations when they can. The wages of our fully qualified Skippers are a major cost, but we also have to pay for fuel, insurance, the Canal and River Trust licence, car park costs at our Cheddleton base and, which is not easy to forecast, the cost of maintaining the Beatrice in a safe and sustainable condition.
We charge for non-school outings (£120 a day, or £140 at weekends), and we make bids, often successfully, to charities that value our work. But we still need help, and your assistance in this would be most welcome. If you can help, with however small an amount, please use the Virgin Giving form below and, if appropriate, take advantage of the Gift Aid scheme.
